We were running late, and Reception gave us a ring, to make sure
that we were still arriving and if we needed directions. Very
considerate! It was about £5 taxi ride from the station, right
next to the sea front.
The room was very comfortable, and very clean. As they were not
full, they gave us a choice of rooms when we arrived, a very nice
touch.
Breakfast was excellent, and all included.

I have seen reviews that complained about the size of the rooms at
the Invicta, but ours was absolutely fine, and had a great view
out onto the park through big windows. The hoteliers were very
warm and friendly, and the car park was locked at night.
Accommodation in Plymouth all seems to be more expensive than the
average.

We would recommend this hotel without any doubt at all. Although
we only stayed for one night, as we were passing through Plymouth,
the location of the hotel was good and easy to find. We found the
service excellent, and with it being a family-run hotel, we found
it very friendly and the staff were very helpful. Our room was a
good size and very clean. Our meals were excellent and we would
have no hesitation in staying at this hotel again if we returned
to Plymouth in the future.

Booked this hotel it was a birthday weekend, Bad start we were
asked to pay for the hotel before we actually saw the rooms, we
have stayed in many hotels over the years but this payment before
we spent the night was unusual.
The weekend we stayed there we put our towels in the bath on the
first morning they put the same towels back on the towel rack
hence no change of towels.
Also breakfast we waited 35 mins for our breakfast no toast whilst
we waited, following morning when we ordered our breakfast I asked
for toast before we had our cooked breakfast was told the toast
comes with the breakfast. Also tried to find the lady to ask her
for more tea no sign of her when we left the restaurant she was
booking someone out at the desk. Pity really nice location
Plymouth is a nice place to spend a weekend unfortunately next
time we go it wont be at this hotel.
Management Response

Although disappointed to read these comments we always welcome
constructive criticism and try to address any potential problems
effectively, We would however like to make the following comments
in response to this review.
A large percentage of hotels now charge for accommodation at the
time of booking especially when booking online, we decided to
continue to allow guests to pay in person, at check in. All our
rooms have just been refurbished to a high standard and guests are
more than welcome to inspect the room before making payment. Had
any objections been made then i would have resolved the matter
accordingly.
We have a very strict towel changing policy at the Invicta Hotel,
all towels are changed daily. We do however try to be
environmentally friendly where possible and if a towel has not
been used then we will leave it. The bathrooms incidentally don’t
have towel racks so this remark cannot be qualified.
We are very proud of our extensive breakfast menu. All our food is
cooked fresh not pre cooked for speed. On rare occasions when all
guests decide to come at the same time and at the last minute,
this could mean a short wait for our guests. Chef provides toast
with all breakfast dishes.
As mentioned previously payment is taken whilst checking in, this
also avoids guests queuing up to check out in the morning whilst
breakfast is being served. There is always more than one member of
staff on at all times.
We are a friendly, family run hotel and we pride ourselves on our
excellent customer service. Nothing is too much trouble and we
like to offer a personal touch. A huge percentage of our comments
highlight the high level of customer service received, this is
something we will continue to provide and strive to improve.

Where do I start, a very warm and friendly greeting on arrival and
it didn’t stop there nothing was too much, any information i
needed was available and if not straight away was obtained. just
recently redecorated to a very high standard but still in
character. I originally booked for three nights but ended up
stayed for seven nights and enjoyed every moment, I will with no
doubt be staying again in the near future. over all a very warm,
clean, and most friendly place to be. Thank you for all you did to
make my stay a most memorable one.

I recently stayed over 2 nights at the Invicta Hotel. My room was
clean and staff very friendly. Breakfast was enjoyable and I had a
relaxing stay over. I will be returning to the Invicta when I am
back in Plymouth.

A very homely and friendly Hotel with a quality rare in most
hotels, “The Personal Touch”. We will be returning in the near
future.

An extremely nice, pleasant, well appointed hotel in an ideal
location for a city break in Plymouth and its environs. Extremely
pleasant proprietors and staff at all levels. Superb in house
restaurant- food fit for a king. Everything so clean. A true
testament to the efforts of Roy and Betty.
